Hey everyone,
Do you like being in the company of an angry person? No?
Unfortunately that is often why relationships are damaged and the angry person finds themselves isolated and in an ever decreasing circle of friends and loved ones.
Being angry is one of our basic human emotions, it’s not anger that is the problem here it’s how we deal with it.
There is apparently no clear diagnosis of an anger ‘disorder’ but there are various disorders that include anger as part of the symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD or drug abuse.
‘Intermittent Explosive Disorder’ may sound like an awesome name for a band but this disorder is characterised by regular angry outbursts that represent failure to control anger impulses.
If you find that you are on edge or do things you later regret, if you are quick to bite back when a situation or person doesn’t agree with you, then it might be an idea to find ways you can get help.
What will controlling your anger make you fear?
– Scared of appearing weak?
– Scared of not being able to stand up for yourself?
– Fear of being hurt?
When you’re angry your body responds by increasing your heart-rate, increasing your breathing and releasing fats into the blood stream to burn. This response is completely out of your control, but how you control your anger is always up to you.
Discussing your anger with a trusted medical professional is the first step to finding a more peaceful and less stressful life.
